Our Process: Design, engineering, and LEED CREDITS
Sunistics Group offers design & engineering services to help your project achieve maximum LEED points.
STEP 1 - DESIGN A RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECT BASED ON THE PROJECT DRAWINGS: Send us the project drawings and we will design a cost effective solar system that meets the requirements of the AHJs, client aesthetic, and optimizes energy generation.
STEP 2 - PROVIDE ‘BANKABLE’ ENERGY GENERATION DATA: We provide energy generation data for the system using software that is third-party verified and accepted by LEED.
STEP 3 - CALCULATE THE COST OF RENEWABLE ENERGY: We calculate the the cost of renewable energy using the local utility rates and software that is third-party verified and accepted by LEED.
STEP 4 - CALCULATE BUILDING ANNUAL ENERGY COSTS: There are two methods of calculating the building annual energy cost. Either you can create the energy model for the building, or we can calculate the energy costs using information from CBECS and local utility rates.

California Energy Commission CODE change
The California Energy Commission (CEC) updated the California Energy Code to require builders to install solar and battery storage on new commercial buildings and high-rise multifamily buildings, effective from January 1, 2023. This is a historic first in the US, making California the pioneer state to mandate solar and storage for new nonresidential constructions.
The commercial mandate is expected to add an estimated 280 MW of solar and 400 MWh of batteries to commercial buildings annually, including office, retail and medical buildings, schools, apartment complexes, and more. The new rules will significantly contribute to improved grid reliability and local resilience, marking a crucial step in the state's clean energy transformation.
