Case Study: Solar Since 2016 for Hillside Memorial

"We made a good choice going solar in 2016, and we made a good choice with Sunistics too." Rafael Ochoa, General Manager, Hillside Memorial

In 2016, we switched on this 335kW system at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in Culver City.

With a perfect view for more than a million vehicles every day from the 5 freeway, it remains to this day one of our projects that makes us most proud.

For the team at Hillside, eliminating more than 10,400,000 lbs of C02 from its carbon footprint was a huge motivation driven in part by the presence of such heavy traffic surrounding the park to the south.

The project was built across multiple historic rooftops and a great amount of coordination between Sunistics' crews and the Hillside team ensured daily operations were unaffected during construction.

"It's a beautiful building at Hillside so we needed to ensure the installation went smoothly, with great care taken by the onsite crews, especially with services ongoing throughout construction," said Rafael Ochoa, Hillside Memorial's General Manager. "The Sunistics team was extremely sensitive to our operations while they worked on the buildings and in the grounds.”

"Since then, the system performance has been consistent, utility bills have been significantly reduced, and we're really happy with the service we continue to receive.

"We made a good choice going solar in 2016, and we made a good choice with Sunistics too."

For Sunistics, it was a great honor to be entrusted with the development of a modern energy project for a historic organization. We're still as proud of this one as we were all those years ago.
